Omnia Del Re

What does your role entail at lecocqassociate?

I advise startups and entrepreneurs at various stages of their development, assisting them with the structuring and realisation of their projects.

My practice also encompasses civil and criminal matters, where I represent and support clients in both pre-contentious and contentious contexts.

This dual approach allows me to deliver tailored legal solutions suited to each client’s specific situation.

Tell us about your academic and professional background.

I initially obtained a diploma from a business school, before pursuing legal studies at the University of Geneva, where I completed my law degree and was admitted to the Geneva bar in February 2023.

Prior to my admission, I gained practical experience as a legal advisor to an accounting expert and worked within the compliance department of a leading Swiss private bank, developing a strong understanding of regulatory and financial environments.

I also completed an eighteen-month traineeship at a Geneva-based law firm specialising in litigation and commercial law, where I was involved in a wide range of complex cases.

Following my admission to the bar, I practised in a law firm focusing on corporate liability, contract drafting and criminal law, further strengthening my expertise in both advisory and contentious matters.

These experiences have enabled me to develop a versatile and pragmatic approach.

What do you consider to be your biggest professional achievement?

I consider my biggest professional achievement to be the trust I have built with clients.

What is the most impactful thing you have done?

One of the most impactful aspects of my practice has been combining legal expertise with building long-term relationships of trust with clients.

Over time, this has enabled me to provide support that is not only legally sound, but also closely aligned with their evolving needs and objectives.

How many languages do you speak?

I am fluent in French and English. I can also communicate in Arabic.

What drives you?

I am driven by the opportunity to have a tangible impact on my clients’ projects and personal situations.

Whether advising on strategic matters or handling disputes, I approach each case with a focus on finding effective, practical and well-reasoned solutions.

I am particularly attentive to understanding my clients’ objectives and constraints in order to provide support that is both legally sound and aligned with their broader interests.

Business aside, what do you enjoy doing when you are not in the office?

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and discovering new environments and cultures, which I find both enriching and inspiring.

What is your secret talent?

I like to think I have a good understanding of my dog – whether he would agree is another question.
